Recently, I visited the Chicago Cultural Center. The exhibit which I viewed was title William Conger Paintings. It is a collection of word- icon by him spanning from the mount up 1958 to 2008. I very much enjoyed this show and hope to allude much of his work soon. One of the pitchs I viewed was entitle Broadway, and it was stainless in the year 1986. This was oil on canvas painting. The painting looked like a bunch of shapes layered, one atop an otherwise. at that place was a lot of overlapping in this piece. The use of shading created a fashion of three dimensional feeling, making some of the shapes seem close-hauled to the viewers eye. The shading also gave the piece value. I felt that the painti ng itself was very well balanced on each side. flavor at it more closely, it seemed as if I was looking through shrubbery or bushes which were being pushed around by a raspy wind. The background seemed to be like a horizon occupation above the ocean because of the dark colors used. Conger used both dark and light colors. The darker colors were used in the background whereas the lighter colors were in the foreground.
